Penetrator and method of manufacturing same

A method of manufacturing a penetrator having arrowhead geometry and base geometry, the method comprising:

• cold heading a piece of material to form a blank, machining the blank to create the arrowhead geometry, and roll forming the blank to create the base geometry, wherein the cold heading is completed before the roll forming and the roll forming is completed before the machining and wherein the machining and roll forming seamlessly blend the arrowhead geometry with the base geometry.

A method of manufacturing a penetrator having arrowhead geometry and base geometry, the method comprising:

• cold heading a piece of material to form a blank, machining the blank to create the arrowhead geometry, and roll forming the blank to create the base geometry, wherein cold heading includes striking the piece of material into a die cavity at least twice before ejecting the piece of material from the die cavity.
