Process cartridge and electrophotographic image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus usable with a plurality of cartridges detachably mountable in a main assembly of said image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording material, said image forming apparatus comprising:

• said main assembly including:
• (a) a main assembly side plate,
• (b) a plurality of main assembly side positioning portions,
• (c) a plurality of main assembly side regulating portions that are provided on said main assembly side plate,
• (d) a plurality of resilient members provided on said main assembly side plate;
• and
• said process cartridges positioned at respective main assembly side positioning portions, with said process cartridges each including:
• (i) a cartridge side portion-to-be-positioned configured to be positioned at one of said main assembly side the positioning portions by the urging force of one of said resilient members when said cartridges are mounted to said main assembly, and
• (ii) a cartridge side portion-to-be-regulated configured to be regulated to prevent contact of said cartridge side portion-to-be-positioned to said main assembly side positioning portion, by contact between said main assembly side regulating portion and said cartridge side portion-to-be-regulated, in upward movement thereof when said process cartridge, entering in said main assembly along a longitudinal direction of said cartridge, is urged upwardly by the urging force of said resilient member.
