Abstract
In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a bit value from a key vector. The bit value has a position within the key vector correlating to a counter value. The method includes receiving a sequence of bit values from a plurality of predefined bit values based on the counter value and in response to a condition associated with the bit value from the key vector being satisfied.
Claims29
A method, comprising:
- receiving a bit value from a key vector, the bit value having a position within the key vector correlating to a counter value;
- and
- receiving a sequence of predefined bit values from a plurality of predefined bit values based on the counter value corresponding to a memory location value associated with the sequence of predefined bit values and in response to a condition associated with the bit value from the key vector being satisfied.
An apparatus comprising:
- a memory configured to store a plurality of predefined bit vectors;
- and
- a logic module configured to receive a key vector defined based on a portion of a data packet received at a multi-stage switch, the logic module configured to select a first predefined bit vector from the plurality of predefined bit vectors stored at the memory based on a first bit value of the key vector, the logic module configured to select a second predefined bit vector from the plurality of predefined bit vectors stored at the memory based on a second bit value of the key vector, the logic module configured to define a hash value based on a bitwise operation on both the first predefined bit vector and the second predefined bit vector.
A method, comprising:
- receiving a key vector defined based on a portion of a data packet;
- selecting a subset of predefined bit vectors from a plurality of predefined bit vectors based on a sequence of bit values defining the key vector, the subset of predefined bit vectors including more than one predefined bit vector from the plurality of predefined bit vectors;
- and
- defining a hash value based on a series of bitwise operations on the subset of predefined bit vectors.
