System and method for transmission and detection of frame including bursts of pulses

An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:

• a transmitter adapted to:
• transmit a first signal to a remote apparatus, the first signal comprising a plurality of bursts of pulses during a first portion of a defined transmission frame, wherein each burst of pulses comprises a defined pseudo-random sequence of pulses, the pseudo-random sequence being known to the remote apparatus through the use of a seed shared between the apparatus and the remote apparatus, and wherein the bursts of pulses are arranged in a defined pattern;
• and
• not transmit the first signal during a second portion of the defined transmission frame, wherein the plurality of bursts of pulses are configured to allow the remote apparatus to identify the first and second portions of the defined transmission frame, and wherein the second portion is configured for including a data payload of the defined transmission frame.

A headset, comprising:

• a transducer adapted to generate audio data;
• and
• a transmitter adapted to:
• transmit a first signal to a remote apparatus, the first signal comprising a plurality of bursts of pulses during a first portion of a defined transmission frame, wherein each burst of pulses comprises a defined pseudo-random sequence of pulses, the pseudo-random sequence being known to the remote apparatus through the use of a seed shared between the headset and the remote apparatus, and wherein the bursts of pulses are arranged in a defined pattern;
• not transmit the first signal during a second portion of the defined transmission frame, wherein the plurality of bursts of pulses are configured to allow the remote apparatus to identify the first and second portions of the defined transmission frame, and wherein the second portion is configured for including a data payload of the defined transmission frame;
• and
• transmit the audio data as the data payload during the second portion of the defined transmission frame.

A user device, comprising:

• a user interface adapted to generate data;
• and
• a transmitter adapted to:
• transmit a first signal to a remote apparatus, the first signal comprising a plurality of bursts of pulses during a first portion of a defined transmission frame, wherein each burst of pulses comprises a defined pseudo-random sequence of pulses, the pseudo-random sequence being known to the remote apparatus through the use of a seed shared between the user device and the remote apparatus, and wherein the bursts of pulses are arranged in a defined pattern;
• not transmit the first signal during a second portion of the defined transmission frame, wherein the plurality of bursts of pulses are configured to allow the remote apparatus to identify the first and second portions of the defined transmission frame, and wherein the second portion is configured for including a data payload of the defined transmission frame;
• and
• transmit the data during the second portion of the defined transmission frame.

A sensing device, comprising:

• a sensor adapted to generate data;
• and
• a transmitter adapted to:
• transmit a first signal to a remote apparatus, the first signal comprising a plurality of bursts of pulses during a first portion of a defined transmission frame, wherein each burst of pulses comprises a defined pseudo-random sequence of pulses, the pseudo-random sequence being known to the remote apparatus through the use of a seed shared between the sensing device and the remote apparatus, and wherein the bursts of pulses are arranged in a defined pattern;
• not transmit the first signal during a second portion of the defined transmission frame, wherein the plurality of bursts of pulses are configured to allow the remote apparatus to identify the first and second portions of the defined transmission frame, and wherein the second portion is configured for including a data payload of the defined transmission frame;
• and
• transmit the data during the second portion of the defined transmission frame.
