Abstract
An example of the disclosed seating system includes a plurality of seating risers configured to telescope relative to one another. At least one of the seating risers is a powered seating riser having a drive system.
Claims24
A seating system comprising:
- a plurality of seating risers configured to telescope relative to one another, wherein at least one of said seating risers is a powered seating riser configured to deploy and retract said plurality of seating risers, said powered seating riser including a belt drive system, wherein said belt drive system includes a plurality of variable frequency drives, said variable frequency drives each including a respective track contacting a ground surface to deploy and retract said plurality of seating risers, and wherein said variable frequency drives are driven at different rates to laterally steer a lower level riser.
A seating system comprising:
- a lower level riser and at least one higher level riser, said lower level riser configured to telescope relative to said at least one higher level riser;
- a drive system associated with said lower level riser, said drive system configured to deploy and retract said seating risers by driving said lower level riser, wherein said drive system includes two independently drivable variable frequency drives, and wherein said variable frequency drives are driven at different rates to laterally steer a lower level riser.
A seating system comprising:
- a plurality of seating risers configured to telescope relative to one another, wherein only one of said seating risers is a powered seating riser configured to deploy and retract said plurality of seating risers, said powered seating riser including a drive system, wherein only a lower level riser includes the drive system, wherein said drive system includes two variable frequency drives, and wherein said variable frequency drives are driven at different rates to laterally steer said lower level riser.
