Abstract
A user interface includes a tactile interface on a client device that allows users to interact with social networking system content in a manner that is optimized for touch screens and mobile devices. The tactile interface allows users to efficiently navigate the social networking system data as well as to capture new content for upload to the social networking system. New content may be captured in a way that allows the user to preview the content in-context.
Claims7
A method comprising:
- displaying in an interface of a mobile device a listing of content items on a display of the mobile device, the listing of content items comprising one or more time boundaries displayed between groups of the content items;
- receiving a user input within the listing of content items to scroll the listing of content items from a first content item on one side of a time boundary, of the one or more time boundaries, to a second content item on another side of the time boundary;
- and
- responsive to the user input, the user input comprising a movement as an input velocity,
- scrolling the displayed listing at a first velocity from the first content item to the boundary,
- scrolling the displayed listing at a second velocity when the boundary is reached, wherein the second velocity relative to the input velocity is lower than the first velocity relative to the input velocity, and
- scrolling the displayed listing at the first velocity from the boundary to the second content item.
