Abstract
The present invention includes a system and process for monitoring the existence of secured, marked digital files. A cryptographic token inertly embedded in markup language tags of digital files is sought in relation to external, third-party databases, e.g. files over the Internet. Instances of files lacking the cryptographic token are identified.
Claims18
A digital data security scouring system for reviewing files, said digital data security scouring system comprising:
- a record database of at least one target visible identity marker;
- an electronic device with a fingerprint updater in signaled communication with
- software adapted to generate secured digital marked files, said secured digital marked file comprising:
- markup language tags constructed according to a markup language document object model (“DOM”);
- and a cryptographic token, inertly embedded within at least one markup language tag of said digital file, with encrypted authenticity data and at least one target visible identity marker from said record database wherein said cryptographic token is expressed in a form that, when reviewed by a reading program, does not register as functional markup language instructions pursuant to said DOM:
- a file retriever adapted to identify data files in a transmission pathway with said electronic device based on said at least one target visible identity marker of said cryptographic token;
- and
- a fingerprint analyzer adapted to identify said data files with said target visible identity markers of said record database and identify said data files that lack said target visible identity markers of said record database.

A digital data security scouring system for reviewing files, said digital data security scouring system comprising:
- a record database of at least one target visible identity marker;
- an electronic device with an electronic device memory having a fingerprint updater in signaled communication with software adapted to generate secured digital marked files, said secured digital marked file comprising:
- markup language tags constructed according to a markup language document object model (“DOM”);
- a file retriever adapted to identify data files in a transmission pathway with said electronic device based on said at least one target visible identity marker of said cryptographic token;
- and
- a fingerprint analyzer adapted to identify said data files with said target visible identity markers of said record database and identify said data files that lack said target visible identity markers of said record database.
