Abstract
The specification and enforcement of domain policies is disclosed. Input including a second level domain is received. The second level domain is associated with a particular top level domain. A determination is made as to whether a resource associated with the second level domain is consistent with a policy associated with the top level domain. A responsive action is performed based at least in part on the determination.

A system, comprising:
- a processor configured to:
- receive input including a secondary domain that is under a higher level domain, wherein the higher level domain is authoritative over domains under the higher level domain, including the secondary domain;
- determine whether a resource associated with the secondary domain that is under the higher level domain adheres with a set of minimum security requirements defined by a compliance policy associated with the higher level domain;
- and
- in response to the determination, perform a responsive action;
- and
- a memory coupled to the processor and configured to provide the processor with instructions.

- receiving input including a secondary domain that is under a higher level domain, wherein the higher level domain is authoritative over domains under the higher level domain, including the secondary domain;
- determining, using a computer processor, whether a resource associated with the secondary domain that is under the higher level domain adheres with a set of minimum security requirements defined by a compliance policy associated with the higher level domain;

- in response to the determination, performing a responsive action.
