Abstract
The present invention provides an epidermal growth factor receptor variant-de4 EGFR protein. The variant lacks the fourth exon of the epidermal growth factor receptor, and promotes tumor cell invasion/metastasis. The present invention also provides an encoding gene for the variant and a method of producing the variant by means of recombination technology.
Claims8
An isolated polypeptide of human epidermal growth factor receptor variant de4 EGFR selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 2;
- (b) a polypeptide generated by a replacement of 1-10 amino acids, a deletion of 1-10 amino acids or an addition of less than 10 amino acids at the C-terminal end and/or the N-terminal end of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, which can promote tumor cell invasion and/or migration and is derived from (a);
- and
- (c) a polypeptide possessing ≧98% homology to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, which can promote tumor cell invasion or migration and is derived from (a).
