Disclosed herein are methods for treating hair related disorders, including compounds that may be specific or modulate PPAR receptors.

A method for treating or ameliorating limited or short hair growth, hair loss, or alopecia in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering an effective amount to the subject of a composition comprising N-acetyl-(R)-(+3-(4-aminophenyl)-2-methoxypropionic acid;
- and an excipient.
A method of stimulating hair growth, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a composition comprising N-acetyl-(R)-(−)-3-(4-aminophenyl)-2-methoxypropionic acid;
- and an excipient.
