Abstract
Compounds of the formula wherein R1 and R2 are as disclosed herein, are useful in treating conditions or disorders prevented by or ameliorated by histamine-3 receptor full or partial agonists. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions, methods for using such compounds and compositions, and processes for preparing the compounds.

A compound of formula (IV) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof,
- wherein RA is hydrogen, alkyl, arylalkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, or cycloalkyl, R1 is hydrogen or methyl, R7 and R8 are each independently hydrogen or lower alkyl, u is 0, p is an integer from 0 to 2, and q is an integer from 0 to 2, provided that p and u are not both equal to 0.
