Abstract
The present invention relates to a controllable polymeric surface coating including a macromolecule, which is covalently bound to the surface of a substrate, the macromolecule including a plurality of polymerization initiators and a plurality of surface binding groups. Pendant polymers may be grafted from at least some of the polymerization initiators.
Claims19
A method for controllably locating polymerisation initiators on a surface of a substrate including covalently binding a macromolecule to the surface, wherein the macromolecule includes a plurality of polymerisation initiators and a plurality of surface binding groups and the polymerisation initiators are RAFT agent derived initiators.
A macromolecule bound by a plurality of covalent bonds to a surface of a substrate wherein the macromolecule includes a plurality of RAFT agent derived polymerisation initiators.
