## Abstract

A method for controlling access to a conference call, the method comprising authenticating a mobile device in accordance with access requirements for the conference call rejecting the mobile device if the participant does not comply with the access requirements in response to the rejection, determining by a processor based on information other than said access requirements that the mobile device is legitimate and overriding the rejection to allow connection to the conference call if it is determined that the mobile device is legitimate.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for controlling access to a conference call, the method comprising:
authenticating a mobile device in accordance with access requirements for the conference call;
determining that the mobile device if the mobile device does not comply with the access requirements;
in response to the determining that the mobile device does not comply with the access requirements, rejecting the mobile device;
in response to rejection the mobile device, determining by a processor based on information other than said access requirements that the mobile device is legitimate; and
in response to the determining that the mobile device is legitimate, overriding the rejection to allow connection to the conference call.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method as defined in claim 1, a notification of the rejection being received by a moderator of the conference call.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method as defined in claim 1, a notification of the rejection being received by a participant of the conference call.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method as defined in claim 1, the other information being received by a moderator.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method as defined in claim 4, the other information being an email received from a rejected participant.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method as defined in claim 1, including a moderator using an address book to determine the request is legitimate.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method as defined in claim 1, instructing a calling device to fetch a rejected participant.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method as defined in claim 1, including generating a log of all requests to participate.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method as defined in claim 8, the log including credentials of rejected participants.

### Claim 10

A mobile device for controlling access to a conference call, the mobile device comprising:
a communications platform; and
a processor,
the processor and communications platform configured to:
authenticate a requesting mobile device in accordance with access requirements for the conference call;
determine that the requesting mobile device does not comply with the access requirements;
in response to the rejection, determine based on information other than said access requirements that the requesting mobile device is legitimate; and
override the rejection to allow connection to the conference call if it is determined that the requesting mobile device is legitimate.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The mobile device as defined in claim 10, including a log for storing credentials of all participants being authenticated.

### Claim 12 (depends on 10)

The mobile device as defined in claim 10, including a log for storing credentials of the rejected participants.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The mobile device as defined in claim 11, a notification of the rejection being an email.

### Claim 14 (depends on 10)

The mobile device as defined in claim 10, the override being generated by a conference call moderator device.
