## Abstract

Disclosed herein is a traveler information monitoring and dissemination system. The system disclosed herein provides real time information to a traveler, wherein the real time information may be pre-selected by the traveler. The system ensures consistent and quality data are produced and issued to the traveler.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A computer-implemented traveler information dissemination system, the system comprising:
a traveler information module stored in memory and executable by a processor to store user criteria organized by location codes, wherein the user criteria comprises selection by the user of:
at least one segment of the route, wherein the at least one segment contains a location code,
a time range, and
at least one type of incident for which the user will receive notifications;
at least one data source that provides current data relating to traveling conditions;
a data processor that executes instructions stored in memory thereby producing:
data based on current data and comprising information that corresponds to the selected user criteria, and
a unique identification code for each incident identified in the data,
a publishing module stored in memory and executable by a processor to provide the data to the user according to the user criteria.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the traveler information module is further executable to store the selected time range that includes a specific day.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the traveler information module is further executable to store the selected time range that includes a start time.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The system of claim 3, wherein the traveler information module is further executable to store the selected time range that includes an end time.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the traveler information module is further executable to store the selected type of incident that includes a traffic accident.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the traveler information module is further executable to store the selected type of incident that includes a weather event.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the traveler information module is further executable to store the selected type of incident that includes traffic congestion.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the traveler information module is further executable to store the selected type of incident that includes a road blockage.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the traveler information module is further executable to store the selected type of incident that includes a traffic accident.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the publishing module is further executable to provide the data to the user in the form of text.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the publishing module is further executable to provide the data to the user in the form of a map.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the publishing module is further executable to send a notification to the user.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the publishing module is further executable to send a notification to the user by text message.

### Claim 14 (depends on 1)

The system of claim 1, wherein the publishing module is further executable to send a notification to the user by text message by email.
