## Abstract

In order to provide an effective vaccine against infection with Propionibacterium acnes, the present invention provides a peptide which is a peptide consisting of a specific amino acid sequence or a peptide consisting of an amino acid sequence derived from the specific amino acid sequence by deletion, substitution, insertion, or addition of one or more amino acids, the peptide suppressing, by immune response, inflammation caused by infection with Propionibacterium acnes.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A peptide consisting of the amino acid sequence of SEQ NO. 1.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A fusion peptide, which is in a form of a multivalent antigen peptide comprising two or more of the peptide of claim 1 operably linked.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

A pharmaceutical composition for reducing inflammation caused by Propionibacterium acnes, comprising the fusion peptide as set forth in claim 2 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The pharmaceutical composition of claim 3, which is in the form of a solution, a suspension, a tablet, a pill, a capsule, a sustained release formulation or a powder.

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

The pharmaceutical composition of claim 3, further comprising an adjuvant.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The pharmaceutical composition of claim 5, wherein the adjuvant is selected from the group consisting of aluminum hydroxide, aluminum phosphate, aluminum potassium sulfate (alum), beryllium sulfate, silica, kaoline, carbon, water-in-oil type emulsion, oil-in-water type emulsion, Muramyl dipeptide, bacterial endotoxin, fat X, Bordetella pertussis, Corynebacterium parvum, polyribonucleotide, sodium alginate, lanoline, lysolecithin, vitamin A, sponin, liposome, levamisole, DEAE-dextran, block copolymer, and combinations thereof.

### Claim 7 (depends on 2)

The fusion peptide of claim 2, wherein the two of more of the peptides are operably linked by a linker.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

A composition, comprising:
the peptide as set forth in claim 1, or a fusion peptide which is in a form of a multivalent antigen peptide comprising two or more of the peptide of claim 1 operably linked.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

A pharmaceutical composition for reducing inflammation caused by Propionibacterium acnes, comprising the peptide as set forth in claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
