## Abstract

A method for non-surgically treating an internal nasal valve of a patient comprising, injecting a working device into the internal nasal valve of the patient, wherein the injected working device in the nasal tissue causes an alteration of an internal or external nasal valve. A device introduced by injection into the nose, allowing for structural support or filling of defects in the nose, and causing a change in external shape of the nose. The device and inserts and implants described also have use in cosmetic applications relating to the facial tissue.

The method according to claim 1, wherein the implant supports a nasal valve angle from collapsing during inspiration.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein said implant has a stiffness to alter a size of the nasal valve area within the nose and resist bending in the nasal tissue.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, further comprising:
adjusting the shape of the implant after insertion of the implant in the nasal tissue.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the implant is used for the treatment of at least one of cosmetic changes, sleep apnea and nasal snoring.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the implant is a nasal stent.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, further comprising:
securing a suture to a first end and a second end of the implant;
guiding the implant to a desired location within the nasal tissue using the sutures extending from each of the first and second end of the implant.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the placing step is for treatment of nasal or paranasal tissues of the patient.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The method according to claim 10, wherein the nasal or paranasal tissues contains a collapse in an internal nasal valve.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, further comprising:
applying heat to the implant after implantation of the implant to alter a shape of the implant.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the material for the implant is a bioabsorbable polymer selected from the group consisting of Poly-L-lactic acid, Poly-d)-lactic acid, Poly-e-caprolactone, and Poly-glycolic acid.

### Claim 14 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the material for the implant is a metal or metal alloy selected from the group consisting of titanium-containing alloys, platinum-tungsten alloys, nickel-containing alloys, nickel-titanium alloys, nitinol, and malleable metals.

### Claim 15 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the material for the implant is a polymer selected from the group consisting of polystyrene, polyethylene, and polypropylene.

### Claim 16 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the implant is made of two or more materials.

### Claim 17 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the implant further includes magnetic resonance imaging visible material.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The method according to claim 17, wherein the magnetic resonance imaging visible material includes bands of material disposed on either end of the implant.

### Claim 19 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the introduction needle further includes a stop mechanism that controls movement of an advancement shaft after the introduction needle arrives at a desired location in the nasal tissue.

### Claim 20 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, further comprising:
inserting a plurality of implants in the nasal tissue to support attachment of the lateral cartilage to the maxilla bone of the nose.

### Claim 21

A method for correcting a nasal valve collapse of a nose, the method comprising
placing of an implant within a cylindrical core of an introducing needle;
inserting the introducing needle into the nose;
controlling movement of the implant out of the introduction needle and into nasal tissue of the nose;
depositing the implant adjacent to a lateral edge of a lower lateral cartilage and a maxillary bone of the nose; and
applying force to the cartilage to stent the nasal valve open,
wherein the implant is made of bioabsorbable material.

### Claim 22 (depends on 21)

The method according to claim 21, wherein the implant supports a lateral edge of the lower lateral cartilage to strengthen attachment of the lower lateral cartilage to the maxillary bone.

### Claim 23 (depends on 21)

The method according to claim 21, wherein the implant is positioned in the nasal tissue to support a nasal airway from collapsing during inspiration.
