## Abstract

A floor standing pedestal fan for creating an air current includes a base housing an impeller and a motor for rotating the impeller to create an air flow, an air outlet, and a telescopic duct for conveying the air flow to the air outlet.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A fan assembly comprising a nozzle mounted on a pedestal, the pedestal comprising a device for creating an air flow and a telescopic duct for supporting the nozzle and for conveying the air flow to the nozzle, the nozzle comprising a mouth for emitting the air flow, the nozzle extending about an opening through which air from outside the nozzle is drawn by the air flow emitted from the mouth, wherein the pedestal comprises a base housing said device for creating an air flow, the duct extending between the base and the air outlet.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The fan assembly of claim 1, wherein the device for creating an air flow comprises an impeller and a motor for rotating the impeller.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The fan assembly of claim 1, wherein the duct comprises a base and a plurality of tubular members connected to the base of the duct, and wherein the base of the duct is connected to the base of the pedestal.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The fan assembly of claim 1, wherein the duct comprises a base and a plurality of tubular members connected to the base.
