## Abstract

A fluid ejecting apparatus includes a nozzle that ejects fluid; a transporting section that transports in a direction of transportation a medium on which the fluid lands; and a mist sucking section that sucks air including a mist portion when the nozzle ejects the fluid, so as to move the mist portion from a route that extends from the nozzle to the spot on the medium where the fluid lands. The mist portion is a portion of mist, which is part of the fluid ejected by the nozzle that does not land on the medium and is floating.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A fluid ejecting apparatus comprising:
a transporting section that transports a medium in a direction of transportation;
a nozzle that ejects a droplet of fluid on the medium;
a mist sucking section that is capable of sucking a mist; and
a controller that controls the mist sucking section,
wherein the controller controls the mist sucking section in order to prevent a collision of the droplet and the mist which is on a flight route of the droplet.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The fluid ejecting apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:
a head that has a nozzle row of a plurality of the nozzles,
wherein a length of the nozzle row in the direction in which the nozzles are arrayed is greater than a width of the medium.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The fluid ejecting apparatus according to claim 1,
wherein the mist sucking section includes a fan and sucks the mist by rotation of the fan.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The fluid ejecting apparatus according to claim 1,
wherein the mist sucking section includes a suction port through which the mist is sucked, and a first mist guiding section and a second mist guiding section that guide the mist to the suction port.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The fluid ejecting apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:
a rotating drum including a rotating member and a rotating shaft which rotates about the rotating shaft while supporting the medium on a peripheral surface of the rotating member.

### Claim 6

A method of controlling a fluid ejecting apparatus, comprising:
providing a transporting section that transports a medium in a direction of transportation, a nozzle that ejects a droplet of fluid on the medium, and a mist sucking section that is capable of sucking a mist; and
controlling the mist sucking section in order to prevent a collision of the droplet and the mist which is on a flight route of the droplet.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

A method of controlling a fluid ejecting apparatus according to claim 6,
wherein the mist sucking section includes a fan and sucks the mist by rotation of the fan.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6)

A method of controlling a fluid ejecting apparatus according to claim 6,
wherein the mist sucking section includes a suction port through which the mist is sucked, and a first mist guiding section and a second mist guiding section that guide the mist to the suction port.

### Claim 9 (depends on 6)

A method of controlling a fluid ejecting apparatus according to claim 6, further comprising rotating a rotating drum while supporting the medium on a peripheral surface of the rotating drum, the rotating drum including a rotating shaft and a rotating member configured to support the medium on a peripheral surface of the rotating member.
