## Abstract

A computerized system, method, and computer-readable media implementing a method for mass producing variable shaped printed products is presented. A set of cutlines defining a shape for the ordered item is associated with each ordered item. A ganging system selects a plurality of ordered items to be simultaneously produced. Individual cutter-ready outline files corresponding to the associated set of outlines for each of the items selected for production are rendered and inserted into a gang template to generate an aggregated cutlines gang file. The gang file and at least one sheet of substrate are submitted to a cutting system. The cutting system cuts the individual finished products from the substrate sheet(s).

converting, by the computerized fulfillment system, the markup language format content description of each of the at least one item into at least one corresponding individual print-ready file in a format ready to be processed by a printing system;
converting, by the computerized fulfillment system, the markup language format cutline description of each of the at least one item into a corresponding individual cutter-ready file in a format ready to be processed by a cutting system;
selecting from the plurality of orders, by the computerized fulfillment system, a set of said ordered items to be simultaneously produced;
aggregating, by the computerized fulfillment system, respective ones of corresponding individual print-ready files and corresponding individual cutter-ready files of the ordered items in the selected set of ordered items into corresponding positions of respective ones of an aggregate print-ready gang file and an aggregate cutlines gang file;
wherein the aggregate print-ready gang file is configured in a format ready to be printed as a whole by the printing system on the substrate, and the aggregate cutlines gang file is configured in a format ready to be received and processed as a whole by the cutting system to cut from the substrate a plurality of individual items, each individual item corresponding to an ordered item from the selected set of ordered items and having a corresponding shape defined according to its associated cutlines description.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein at least some of the cutlines associated with at least one ordered item are outer cutlines defining an outer shape of the associated item and at least some of the cutlines associated with the at least one ordered item are inner cutlines defining an inner cutaway area of the item from which substrate material of the substrate sheet is removed by the cutting system.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

One or more non-transitory computer readable storage medium together tangibly embodying program instructions which, when executed by a computer, implement the method of claim 1.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the associated markup language format cutline descriptions associated with at least some of the ordered items in the selected set of ordered items to be simultaneously produced define different cutout shapes.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
wherein the individual cutter-ready files each comprises a Postscript file.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
wherein the aggregate cutlines gang file comprises a Postscript file.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
submitting, by the computerized fulfillment system, the aggregate print-ready gang file to the printing system to simultaneously print onto the substrate the associated design content for each of the ordered items in the selected set of ordered items, and
submitting, by the computerized fulfillment system, the aggregate cutlines gang file to the cutting system to cut the printed substrate into the plurality of individual items.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9,
wherein each of the aggregate print gang file and the aggregate cutlines gang file is a Postscript file.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The method of claim 10,
wherein each of the markup language cutline description and the markup language content description is extracted from an item template made available over the network and selected and customized by the customer.

### Claim 12 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9,
wherein the markup language format cutline descriptions associated with at least some of the ordered items in the selected set of ordered items to be simultaneously produced define different cutout shapes.

### Claim 13 (depends on 10)

The method of claim 10,
wherein the markup language format cutline descriptions associated with at least some of the ordered items in the selected set of ordered items to be simultaneously produced define different cutout shapes.
