## Abstract

A novel maize variety designated X13B660 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof, produced by crossing Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. proprietary inbred maize varieties. Methods for producing a maize plant that comprises crossing hybrid maize variety X13B660 with another maize plant. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into X13B660 through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby. This invention relates to the maize variety X13B660, the seed, the plant produced from the seed, and variants, mutants, and minor modifications of maize variety X13B660. This invention further relates to methods for producing maize varieties derived from maize variety X13B660.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A hybrid maize variety X13B660 seed, wherein representative seed is produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH1D84 with a second plant of variety PH12FT, and wherein representative seed of said varieties PH1D84 and PH12FT have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-121035 and PTA-13035, respectively.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A method of treating the hybrid maize variety X13B660 comprising obtaining the hybrid maize variety X13B660 seed of claim 1 and applying a seed treatment to the hybrid maize variety X13B660 seed.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A method comprising cleaning the hybrid maize variety X13B660 seed of claim 1.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

A plant, plant part, or cell produced by growing the hybrid maize variety X13B660 seed of claim 1.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

A method of producing a commodity plant product comprising obtaining the plant or plant part of claim 4 and producing said commodity plant product therefrom.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

A method for producing a second maize plant comprising applying plant breeding techniques to a first maize plant, or parts thereof, wherein said first maize plant is the maize plant of claim 4, and wherein application of said techniques results in the production of said second maize plant.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6 further comprising:
(a) crossing said first maize plant with itself or another maize plant to produce seed of a subsequent generation;
(b) harvesting and planting the seed of the subsequent generation to produce at least one plant of the subsequent generation; and
(c) repeating steps (a) and (b) for an additional 2-10 generations to produce a second maize plant.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6 further comprising:
(a) crossing said first maize plant with an inducer variety to produce haploid seed; and
(b) doubling the haploid seed to produce a second maize plant.

### Claim 9

A hybrid maize variety X13B660 seed further comprising a locus conversion, wherein said seed is produced by crossing a first plant of variety PH1D84 with a second plant of variety PH12FT; wherein representative seed of said varieties PH1D84 and PH12FT have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-121035 and PTA-13035, respectively; and wherein at least one of said varieties PH1D84 and PH12FT further comprises a locus conversion.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

A method of treating the seed of hybrid maize variety X13B660 comprising obtaining the hybrid maize variety X13B660 seed comprising a locus conversion of claim 9, and applying a seed treatment to the seed of hybrid maize variety X13B660.

### Claim 11 (depends on 9)

A method comprising cleaning the hybrid maize variety X13B660 seed further comprising a locus conversion of claim 9.

### Claim 12 (depends on 9)

The hybrid maize variety X13B660 seed further comprising a locus conversion of claim 9, wherein the locus conversion confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, site-specific recombination, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphorus, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide tolerance, insect resistance and disease resistance.

### Claim 13 (depends on 9)

A plant, plant part, or cell produced by growing the hybrid maize variety X13B660 seed further comprising a locus conversion of claim 9.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

A method of producing a commodity plant product comprising obtaining the plant or plant part of claim 13 and producing said commodity plant product therefrom.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)

A method for producing a second maize plant comprising applying plant breeding techniques to a first maize plant, or parts thereof, wherein said first maize plant is the maize plant of claim 13, and wherein application of said techniques results in the production of said second maize plant.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The method for producing a second maize plant of claim 15, further comprising:
(a) crossing said first maize plant with itself or another maize plant to produce seed of a subsequent generation;
(b) harvesting and planting the seed of the subsequent generation to produce at least one plant of the subsequent generation; and
(c) repeating steps (a) and (b) for an additional 2-10 generations to produce a second maize plant.

### Claim 17 (depends on 15)

The method for producing a second maize plant of claim 15, further comprising:
