## Abstract

The invention relates to the novel cotton variety designated 09R348B2R2. Provided by the invention are the seeds, plants, plant parts and derivatives of the cotton variety 09R348B2R2. Also provided by the invention are tissue cultures of the cotton variety 09R348B2R2 and the plants regenerated therefrom. Still further provided by the invention are methods for producing cotton plants by crossing the cotton variety 09R348B2R2 with itself or another cotton variety and plants produced by such methods.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A plant of cotton variety 09R348B2R2, wherein a sample of seed of said variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-120543.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A plant part of the plant of claim 1, wherein the plant part comprises at least a first cell of said plant.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The plant part of claim 2, further defined as pollen, a meristem, a cell, or an ovule.

### Claim 4

A seed of cotton variety 09R348B2R2, wherein a sample of seed of said variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-120543.

### Claim 5

A cotton plant that expresses all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of cotton variety 09R348B2R2, wherein a sample of seed of said variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-120543.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

A method of producing cotton seed, wherein the method comprises crossing the plant of claim 1 with itself or a second cotton plant.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6, wherein the method comprises crossing the plant of cotton variety 09R348B2R2 with said second cotton plant to produce an F1 hybrid cotton seed.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

An F1 hybrid cotton seed produced by the method of claim 7.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

An F1 hybrid cotton plant produced by growing the seed of claim 8.

### Claim 10

A composition comprising a seed of cotton variety 09R348B2R2 comprised in plant seed growth media, wherein a sample of seed of said variety has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-120543.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The composition of claim 10, wherein the growth media is soil or a synthetic cultivation medium.

### Claim 12

A plant produced by introducing a single locus conversion into cotton variety 09R348B2R2, or a selfed progeny thereof comprising the single locus conversion, wherein the single locus conversion was introduced into cotton variety 09R348B2R2 by backcrossing or genetic transformation and wherein a sample of seed of cotton variety 09R348B2R2 has been deposited under ATCC Accession No. PTA-120543.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The plant of claim 12, wherein the single locus conversion comprises a transgene.

### Claim 14 (depends on 12)

A seed that produces the plant of claim 12.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The seed of claim 14, wherein the single locus confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide tolerance, insect or pest resistance, disease resistance, modified fatty acid metabolism, abiotic stress resistance, site-specific genetic recombination, modified carbohydrate metabolism and modified cotton fiber characteristics.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The seed of claim 15, wherein the single locus confers tolerance to an herbicide selected from the group consisting of glyphosate, sulfonylurea, imidazalinone, dicamba, glufosinate, phenoxy propionic acid, cyclohexanedione, triazine, benzonitrile and bromoxynil.

### Claim 17 (depends on 15)

The seed of claim 15, wherein the trait is insect resistance and said single locus comprises a transgene encoding a Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) endotoxin.

### Claim 18 (depends on 15)

The seed of claim 15, wherein the single locus comprises a transgene.

### Claim 19 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, wherein the method further comprises:
(a) crossing a plant grown from said F1 hybrid cotton seed with itself or a different cotton plant to produce a seed of a progeny plant of a subsequent generation;
(b) growing a progeny plant of a subsequent generation from said seed of a progeny plant of a subsequent generation and crossing the progeny plant of a subsequent generation with itself or a second plant to produce a progeny plant of a further subsequent generation; and
(c) repeating steps (a) and (b) using said progeny plant of a further subsequent generation from step (b) in place of the plant grown from said F1 hybrid cotton seed in step (a), wherein steps (a) and (b) are repeated with sufficient inbreeding to produce an inbred cotton plant derived from the cotton variety 09R348B2R2.

### Claim 20 (depends on 19)

The method of claim 19 comprising crossing said inbred cotton plant derived from the cotton variety 09R348B2R2 with a plant of a different genotype to produce a seed of a hybrid cotton plant derived from the cotton variety 09R348B2R2.

### Claim 21
