## Abstract

The invention discloses a composition comprising at least one N-acetyl-lactosamine, at least one sialylated oligosaccharide and at least one fucosylated oligosaccharide, for use in the prevention and/or treatment of skin conditions and skin diseases. Preferably said composition is a starter infant formula. Said skin disease is in particular atopic dermatitis.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for the prevention and/or treatment of skin conditions and skin diseases comprising the step of administering a composition comprising at least one chemically synthesized N-acetyl-lactosamine, at least one sialylated oligosaccharide and at least one fucosylated oligosaccharide to an individual in need of same, the sialylated oligosaccharide comprising 3′-sialyllactose and 6′-sialyllactose, and a ratio of 3′-sialyllactose to 6′-sialyllactose being in the range between 5:1 and 1:2 on a weight basis.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the N-acetyl-lactosamine is selected from the group consisting of lacto-N-tetraose and lacto-N-neotetraose.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the fucosylated oligosaccharide is selected from the group consisting of 2′-fucosyllactose, 3-fucosyllactose, difucosyllactose, lacto-N-fucopentaoses, lacto-N-difucohexaose I, fucosyllacto-N-hexaose, Difucosyllacto-N-hexaose I and Difucosyllacto-N-neohexaose II.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the composition comprises at least one probiotic bacterial strain.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the composition comprises at least one prebiotic.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, the composition is selected from the group consisting of a starter infant formula, an infant formula, a follow-on formula, a baby food formula, an infant cereals formula and a growing-up milk.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the individual is a healthy infants and healthy young children.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the composition is administered before and/or during a weaning period.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the individual has experienced at least one episode of the skin diseases.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the individual has experienced at least one episode of skin dehydration and/or skin rash, roughness and/or dryness.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein the individual has experienced at least one episode of atopic dermatitis.

### Claim 12

A method for the enhancement of the oral tolerance to allergens in an individual comprising the step of administering to the individual a composition comprising at least one N-acetyl lactosamine, at least one sialylated oligosaccharide and at least one fucosylated oligosaccharide, as a synthetic nutritional agent, the sialylated oligosaccharide comprising 3′-sialyllactose and 6′-sialyllactose, and a ratio of 3′-sialyllactose to 6′-sialyllactose being in the range between 5:1 and 1:2 on a weight basis.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The method according to claim 11, wherein the composition is a supplement.
