## Abstract

A method of aligning a point of aim with a point of impact for a projectile device is disclosed. Using at least one superposition device coupled to the projectile device, multiple optical reference points are superposed within a first target area. Positions for at least two of the optical reference points are noted. A projectile is shot from the projectile device at a second target area, while the positions of the at least two optical reference points are maintained, to create the point of impact. The point of aim for the projectile device is adjusted to correspond with the point of impact while the positions of the at least two optical reference points are maintained. A system for aligning a point of aim with a point of impact for a projectile device is also disclosed.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of aligning a point of aim with a point of impact for a projectile device, comprising:
using at least one superposition device coupled to the projectile device, superposing multiple optical reference points within a first target area;
aligning optical references of the at least one superposition device with at least two of the multiple optical reference points;
shooting a projectile from the projectile device that is disposed in a first position and orientation at a second target area, while the positions of the at least two optical reference points are maintained, to create the point of impact, wherein the projectile device is disposed in a second position and orientation upon the shooting of the projectile and said second position and orientation differs from said first position and orientation; and
adjusting the point of aim for the projectile device to correspond with the point of impact while the projectile device is disposed in the second position and orientation and the positions of the at least two optical reference points are maintained.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the plane on which the first target area is disposed is the plane on which the second target area is disposed.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one superposition device comprises at least one illumination source.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein superposing multiple optical reference points within the first target area comprises using the at least one illumination source to shine multiple laser dots within the first target area.

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein superposing multiple optical reference points within the first target area comprises using the at least one illumination source to shine one or more shapes within the first target area, wherein the one or more shapes create multiple optical reference points.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein noting positions for the at least two optical reference points comprises marking the positions of said at least two optical reference points on the first target area.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein noting positions for the at least two optical reference points comprises aligning said at least two optical reference points on corresponding points in the first target area.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein:
the at least one superposition device comprises multiple optical reference points coupled to the projectile device; and
noting positions for at least two of the optical reference points comprises superposing the multiple optical reference points over corresponding pre-printed alignment points in the first target area.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8, wherein:
the multiple optical reference points are leveled with respect to the projectile device; and
the corresponding pre-printed alignment points in the first target area are level.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8, wherein the corresponding pre-printed alignment points in the target area are positioned such that the projectile device is level when the multiple optical reference points are superposed on the corresponding pre-printed alignment points in the target area.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising leveling the projectile device prior to noting the positions for the at least two optical reference points.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein adjusting the point of aim of the projectile device comprises aiming with an aiming device coupled to the projectile device, wherein the aiming device is selected from the group consisting of:
a scope;
an iron sight;
a dot sight;
a holographic sight; and
a shotgun sight.
