Abstract
The present invention relates a recombinant Clostridium expressing one or more heterologous Wood-Ljungdahl (WL) genes. In particular, the recombinant Clostridium produces a metabolite at an increased level. The present invention also relates to a method for producing a metabolite by the recombinant Clostridium.
Claims19
A recombinant Clostridium expressing one or more heterologous Wood-Ljungdahl (WL) genes derived from a donor Clostridium, wherein the recombinant Clostridium is derived from a recipient Clostridium, wherein the recipient Clostridium does not have a functional WL pathway, wherein the donor Clostridium has a functional WL pathway, and wherein the recombinant Clostridium has a functional WL pathway.
