Abstract
Disclosed herein is a pool cleaning device including an internal drive assembly mounted outside the interior cavity of the device housing. The device including a pool cleaning vehicle, the vehicle including a housing defining a body shell and the body shell including an interior cavity and the pool cleaning vehicle including a drive assembly; and an internal drive assembly, the internal drive assembly including a motor assembly for engaging the vehicle drive assembly for propelling the vehicle, the motor assembly mounted outside the interior of the body shell.
Claims12
An internal drive assembly for a pool cleaning vehicle, the pool cleaning vehicle including a body shell and the body shell including an interior cavity and drive means for traveling around an underwater surface of a pool, the internal drive assembly comprising:
- a motor mounted in a housing on an outside of the body shell and mated to the internal drive assembly for propelling the vehicle,
- wherein the internal drive assembly includes:
- at least one drive wheel, and
- the at least one drive wheel includes a gear assembly.
A pool cleaning device, comprising:
- a pool cleaning vehicle including:
- a body shell, the body shell including an interior cavity;
- and
- a housing mounted on an outside of the body shell,
- an internal drive assembly, the internal drive assembly including a motor for propelling the vehicle, the motor mounted in the housing on the outside of the body shell,
- wherein the internal drive assembly includes drive wheels, and
- the drive wheels include a gear assembly.
An internal drive assembly for a pool cleaning vehicle, the pool cleaning vehicle including:
- drive means for traveling around an underwater surface of a pool, and
- a body shell including an interior cavity,
- the internal drive assembly comprising:
- a motor for propelling the vehicle, the motor being mounted in a housing outside of the body shell,
- a pair of drive wheels, and
- each of the drive wheels includes a drive gear formed as an integral part of each of the drive wheels.
