Abstract
This invention provides an anti-cancer immunogenic agent(s) (e.g. vaccines) that elicit an immune response specifically directed against renal cell cancers expressing a G250 antigenic marker. Preferred immunogenic agents comprise a chimeric molecule comprising a kidney cancer specific antigen (G250) attached to a granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF). The agents are useful in a wide variety of treatment modalities including, but not limited to protein vaccination, DNA vaccination, and adoptive immunotherapy.
Claims21
A method of inducing an immune response against a G250 kidney-specific antigen or a cell displaying the human kidney cancer specific antigen (G250), said method comprising:
- activating a cell of the immune system with a construct comprising a human kidney cancer specific antigen (G250) encoded by the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:23 attached to a human granulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) encoded by the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:24, whereby said activating provides an immune response directed against the human kidney cancer specific antigen (G250).
A method of inhibiting the proliferation or growth of a transformed kidney cell, said method comprising:
- activating a cell of the immune system with a construct comprising a human kidney cancer specific antigen (G250) encoded by the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:23 attached to a human granulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) encoded by the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:24, whereby said activating provides an immune response directed against the human kidney cancer specific antigen (G250) and said immune response inhibits the growth or proliferation of a transformed kidney cell.
