An isolated polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence of a variant serum paraoxonase (PON1) selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, 129, 140, 141 and 142, said isolated polypeptide having hydrolase catalytic efficiency of kcat/kM≈106-5·107 M−1min−1 for a G-type organophosphate.
