Abstract
A PTD-UQCRB fusion polypeptide, and a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating ischemic diseases, containing the same. The PTD-UQCRB fusion polypeptide of the present invention very effectively passes through a cell membrane to induce angiogenesis and does not cause cytotoxicity, and is thus useful for preventing and treating ischemic diseases.
Claims4
A PTD-UQCRB fusion polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of a PTD (protein transduction domain) set forth in SEQ ID NO:2 and the amino acid sequence of the human UQCRB (Ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase binding protein) as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1.
A method for treating an ischemic disease, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a pharmaceutical composition comprising (a) a pharmaceutically effective amount of a PTD-UQCRB fusion polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of a PTD (protein transduction domain) set forth in SEQ ID NO:2 and the amino acid sequence of the human UQCRB (Ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase binding protein) as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1;
- and (b) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
