Automated top-down multi-abstraction infrastructure performance analytics -network infrastructure-as-a-service perspective

A system for analyzing a computer network the data system comprising:

• one or more domains, each of the one or more domains comprising a plurality of nodes and one or more links;
• and
• computer-executable program code operating in memory, wherein the computer-executable program code is configured for execution of the following steps:
• calculating the unicast health of the computer network by observing the throughput of the network without injecting additional network traffic into the computer network;
• determining, based on the computer network health, if an infrastructure problem exists;
• identifying, based on the determination, a domain of the one or more domains of the computer network;
• further identifying, based on the identified domain, an infrastructure problem selected from the group comprising the plurality of nodes and the one or more links of the identified domain;
• determining an origin of the cause of the infrastructure problem based on the identified infrastructure problem.

A computer program product for analyzing a computer network comprising one or more domains, each of the one or more domains comprising a plurality of nodes and one or more links, the program product comprising:

• A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium encoded with computer-executable program code enabling:
• calculating the unicast health of the computer network by observing the throughput of the network without injecting network traffic into the computer network;
• determining, based on the computer network health, if an infrastructure problem exists;
• identifying, based on the determination, a domain of the one or more domains of the computer network;
• further identifying, based on the identified domain, an infrastructure problem selected from the group comprising the plurality of nodes and the one or more links of the identified domain;
• determining an origin of the cause of the infrastructure problem based on the identified infrastructure problem.
