Abstract
A method and a system for summarization of short comments are provided. The system comprises a memory to store a comments collection. The comments collection stores a plurality of comments for later access. The comments respectively include an overall rating and at least one phrase. The system also includes one or more processors to implement an aspect module to identify a first head term and a second head term based on a first portion of the comments and to map the first head term and the second head term into an aspect cluster. The one or more processor also implement a rating module to predict an aspect rating corresponding to the aspect cluster based on the respective overall ratings of the portion of the comments.
Claims18
A system comprising:
- a memory to store a comments collection, the comments collection comprising a plurality of comments, the plurality of comments respectively comprising an overall rating of an entity and at least one phrase;
- and
- one or more processors to implement:
- an aspect module to identify a first head term and a second head term in the at least one phrase based on a first portion of the plurality of comments and to map the first head term and the second head term into an aspect cluster, the aspect cluster corresponding to an attribute of the entity, the aspect module further to decompose the overall rating into an aspect and another aspect based only on the first portion of the plurality of the comments;
- and
- a rating module to predict an aspect rating corresponding to the aspect cluster based on the respective overall ratings of the first portion of the plurality of comments.
A method comprising:
- using one or more computer processors, identifying a plurality of aspect clusters based on a comments collection, respective comments within the comments collection comprising an overall rating of an entity and at least one phrase, the at least one phrase comprising a head term and a modifier of the head term;
- evaluating the at least one phrase using a precision metric and a recall metric;
- using the one or more computer processors, predicting a rating corresponding to each respective aspect based on the overall rating of a portion of the respective comments, the portion of the respective comments associated with a first cluster;
- and
- using the one or more computer processors, extracting at least one representative phrase from the portion of the comments and the predicted rating.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having instructions embodied thereon, the instructions executable by a processor for performing a method comprising:
- identifying a plurality of aspect clusters based on a comments collection, respective comments within the comments collection comprising an overall rating and at least one phrase, the at least one phrase comprising a head term and a modifier;
- evaluating the at least one phrase using a precision metric and a recall metric;
- predicting a rating corresponding to each respective aspect based on the overall rating of a portion of the respective comments, the portion of the respective comments associated with a first cluster;
- and
- extracting at least one representative phrase from the portion of the respective comments and the predicted rating.
