Abstract
A base station receives a first radio resource control (RRC) message comprising parameter(s) indicating whether a wireless device supports an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH). The base station selectively transmits second RRC message(s) configuring first radio resources of a first ePDCCH. The base station makes a handover decision for the wireless device. The base station transmits a third message to a target base station. The third message comprises at least one of: parameter(s) indicating whether the wireless device supports an ePDCCH, and configuration information of the first ePDCCH.
Claims20
A method for use by a serving base station, the method comprising:
- a) receiving a first radio resource control (RRC) message comprising a parameter indicating whether a wireless device supports an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH)), said ePDCCH configured to carry scheduling information for a plurality of downlink packets and a plurality of uplink packets;
- b) transmitting, selectively and if said parameter indicates support of said ePDCCH, a second RRC message causing configuration of radio resources of a first ePDCCH comprising one or more sets of resource blocks in a subset of subframes in a plurality of subframes, said second RRC message indicating said subset of subframes in which said radio resources of said first ePDCCH are configured;
- c) making a handover decision for said wireless device;
- and
- d) transmitting to a target base station, in response to said handover decision, a third message comprising at least one of:
- said parameter indicating whether said wireless device supports said ePDCCH;
- and configuration information of said first ePDCCH.
A method for use in a wireless network, the method comprising:
- a) transmitting, by a wireless device, a first radio resource control (RRC) message comprising a parameter indicating whether said wireless device supports an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH), said ePDCCH configured to carry scheduling information for a plurality of downlink packets and a plurality of uplink packets;
- b) transmitting, by said serving base station, selectively and if said parameter indicates support of said ePDCCH, a second RRC message causing configuration of radio resources of a first ePDCCH comprising one or more sets of resource blocks in a subset of subframes in a plurality of subframes;
- c) making a handover decision, by said serving base station, for said wireless device;
- and
- d) transmitting, by said serving base station, in response to said handover decision, a third message comprising said parameter indicating whether said wireless device supports said ePDCCH.
A serving base station comprising:
- a) one or more communication interfaces;
- b) one or more processors;
- and
- c) memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause said serving base station to:
- i) receive a first radio resource control (RRC) message comprising a parameter indicating whether a wireless device supports an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH), said ePDCCH configured to carry scheduling information for a plurality of downlink packets and a plurality of uplink packets;
- ii) transmit, selectively and if said parameter indicates support of said ePDCCH, a second RRC message causing configuration of radio resources of a first ePDCCH comprising one or more sets of resource blocks in a subset of subframes in a plurality of subframes;
- iii) making a handover decision for said wireless device;
- and
- iv) transmit to a target base station, in response to said handover decision, a third message comprising at least one of:
- said parameter indicating whether said wireless device supports said ePDCCH;
- and configuration information of said first ePDCCH.
