Abstract
The present invention provides an inbred corn line designated LIC7382, methods for producing a corn plant by crossing plants of the inbred line LIC7382 with plants of another corn plant. The invention further encompasses all parts of inbred corn line LIC7382, including culturable cells. Additionally provided herein are methods for introducing transgenes into inbred corn line LIC7382, and plants produced according to these methods.
Claims18
A seed of the maize variety LIC7382, representative seed sample deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTAl2496.
A maize plant LIC7382, representative seed sample of said LIC7382 plant having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTAl2496.
A process of introducing a heritable trait into maize variety LIC 7382 comprising:
- (a) crossing LIC7382 plants grown from LIC7382 seeds, representative seed sample deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-12496, with plants of another maize variety that comprise a desired trait to produce hybrid progeny plants, (b) selecting hybrid progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected hybrid progeny plants;
- (c) crossing the selected hybrid progeny plants with the LIC7382 plants to produce backcross progeny plants;
- (d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have the desired trait to produce selected backcross progeny plants;
- and (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) at least three or more times to produce backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of maize inbred plant LIC7382 when grown in the same environmental conditions.
