Abstract
According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH336383. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH336383, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH336383 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH336383.
Claims21
A seed of hybrid corn variety CH336383, produced by crossing a first plant of variety CV995128 with a second plant of variety CV234930, wherein representative seed of said varieties CV995128 and CV234930 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11307 and PTA-11784, respectively.
A seed produced by crossing
- (a) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV995128, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV234930,
- (b) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV234930, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV995128, or
- (c) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV234930, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing or transformation a transgene into a plant of variety CV995128, or a selfed progeny thereof,
- wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a first or second plant comprising the transgene and otherwise essentially all of the physiological and morphological traits of variety CV995128 or variety CV234930, and
- wherein representative seed of said varieties CV995128 and CV234930 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11307 and PTA-11784, respectively, and wherein the transgene is inherited by the seed.
A method of producing hybrid corn seed, said method comprising crossing a plant of variety CV995128 with a plant of variety CV234930, wherein representative seed of variety CV995128 and variety CV234930 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11307 and PTA-11784, respectively.
A seed-produced by crossing
- (a) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing a single locus conversion into a plant of variety CV995128, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV234930,
- (b) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing a single locus conversion into a plant of variety CV234930, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant of variety CV995128, or
- (c) a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing a single locus conversion into a plant of variety CV234930, or a selfed progeny thereof, with a plant produced by introducing by backcrossing a single locus conversion into a plant of variety CV995128, or a selfed progeny thereof,
- wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a first or second plant comprising the transgene and otherwise essentially all of the physiological and morphological traits of variety CV995128 or variety CV234930, and
- wherein representative seed of said varieties CV995128 and CV234930 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11307 and PTA-11784, respectively, and wherein the single locus conversion is inherited by the seed.
A method of introducing a heritable trait into hybrid corn variety CH336383, said method comprising the steps of:
- (a) introducing at least a first heritable trait into at least one inbred corn variety selected from the group consisting of variety CV995128 and variety CV234930 to produce a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the trait, wherein the heritable trait is introduced into said first inbred corn variety by backcrossing, wherein said backcrossing is sufficient to produce a first or second plant comprising the heritable trait and otherwise essentially all of the physiological and morphological traits of variety CV995128 or variety CV234930, and wherein representative samples of seed of variety CV995128 and variety CV234930 have been deposited under ATCC Accession numbers PTA-11307 and PTA-11784, respectively;
- and
- (b) crossing a plant of the first inbred corn variety that heritably carries the trait with a plant of a different variety selected from said group consisting of CV995128 and CV234930 to produce a plant comprising the heritable trait.
