Abstract
The invention provides seed and plants of the lettuce sister lines designated PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 and PX06514204. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of these sister lines, and to methods for producing a lettuce plant produced by crossing a plant of sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204 with itself or with another lettuce plant, such as a plant of another line. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of such a sister line, including the gametes of such plants.
Claims32
A seed of a lettuce sister line selected from the group consisting of PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201, and PX06514204, wherein samples of seed of said sister lines have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-11966, PTA-11967, PTA-11968, and PTA-11969, respectively.
A plant of a lettuce sister line selected from the group consisting of PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201, and PX06514204, wherein samples of seed, of said sister lines have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-11966, PTA-11967, PTA-11968, and PTA-11969, respectively.
A method of producing lettuce seed, the method comprising crossing a plant of a lettuce sister line selected from the group consisting of PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201, and PX06514204 with a second plant, wherein samples of seed of said sister lines have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-11966, PTA-11967, PTA-11968, and PTA-11969, respectively.
A method for producing a seed of a plant derived from one or more of sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204, the method comprising the steps of:
- (a) crossing a lettuce plant of sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204 with a second lettuce plant, wherein samples of seed of said sister lines have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-11966, PTA-11967, PTA-11968, and PTA-11969, respectively;
- and
- (b) allowing seed of a sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204-derived lettuce plant to form.
A method of vegetatively propagating a plant of sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204, the method comprising the steps of
- (a) collecting tissue capable of being propagated from a plant of lettuce variety sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204, wherein samples of seed of said sister lines have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-11966, PTA-11967, PTA-11968, and PTA-11969, respectively;
- and
- (b) producing at least a first rooted plant from said tissue.
A method of producing a conversion of lettuce variety sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204 comprising at least one new trait, the method comprising:
- (a) crossing a plant of lettuce variety sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204 with a lettuce plant that comprises at least one new trait to produce progeny seed, wherein samples of seed of said sister lines have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-11966, PTA-11967, PTA-11968, and PTA-11969, respectively;
- (b) harvesting and planting the progeny seed to produce at least one progeny plant of a subsequent generation, wherein the progeny plant comprises the at least one new trait;
- (c) crossing the progeny plant with a plant of lettuce variety sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204 to produce backcross progeny seed;
- (d) harvesting and planting the backcross progeny seed to produce at least one backcross progeny plant;
- and
- (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) for at least three additional generations to produce a converted plant of lettuce variety sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204, wherein the converted plant of lettuce variety sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204 comprises the at least one new trait.
A method of producing a plant of lettuce sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204 comprising an added desired trait, the method comprising introducing a transgene conferring the desired trait into a plant of lettuce sister line PX06514083, PX06514153, PX06514201 or PX06514204, wherein samples of seed of said sister lines have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-11966, PTA-11967, PTA-11968, and PTA-11969, respectively.
