A method of reducing tumor cell growth, the method comprising administering an effective amount of a compound having the formula:

- R11 is —H;
- R5 is —H;
- and
- wherein the formula satisfies one of the following conditions (1) to (4):
- (1) each of R2 and R4 is —H, and each of R12, R13, R21, R22, and R3 is a benzoate group;
- (2) each of R13, R2, and R4 is —H, and each of R12, R21, R22, and R3 is an acetate group;
- (3) each of R13, R2, and R4 is —H, and each of R12, R21, R22, and R3 is a benzoate group;
- (4) R13 is —H, and each of R12, R21, R22, R2 and R3, and R4 is an acetate group.
A method of manufacturing a medicament for reducing tumor cell growth, the method comprising forming a medicament comprising a compound having the formula:
- wherein
- R5 is —H;
- and
- wherein the formula satisfies one of the following conditions (1) to (3):
- (1) each of R11, R12, R13, R21, R22, R2, R3, and R4 is an acetate group;
- (2) each of R11, R12, R13, R21, R22 is an acetate group, R2 is an acetate group, and each of R3 and R4 is —H;
- (3) each of R11, R12, R13, R21, R22 is an acetate group, each of R2 and R4 is an acetate group, and R3 is —H.
A method of manufacturing a medicament for reducing tumor cell growth, the method comprising forming a medicament comprising a compound having the formula:
- wherein the formula satisfies one of conditions (1) and (2):
- (1) R1 is —H, R2 is —OH, and each of R3 and R4 is —H;
- (2) R1 is —H, each of R2 and R4 is —OH, and R3 is —H.
