Pyrrolidine derivatives, pharmaceutical compositions containing the same, and methods of using the same

A compound of formula (I):

• wherein:
• R1 is (CH2)n—V—(CH2)n′—R4, wherein:
• n and n′ are independently 0 or 1;
• V is absent or is —O—, —S—, or —OC(O) —;
• and
• R4 is —H, —OH, —CN, halogen, or (C1-C6)alkyl, in which one or more of the hydrogen atoms of the alkyl group may be optionally substituted by one or more groups selected from the group consisting of oxo, —CN, —SH, and halogen;
• R2 is (CH2)m—R6, wherein:
• m=0 or an integer from 1 to 4;
• and
• R6 is aryl or heteroaryl, each of which may be optionally substituted by one or more groups selected from the group consisting of oxo, —OH, —CN, —COOH, (C1-C6)alkoxy, (C1-C6)alkyl, (C1-C6)haloalkyl, and halogen;
• or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
