A mevalonate pathway inhibitor compound of a formula
- wherein R1 is selected from C2 to C6 alkenyl, C2 to C6 alkynyl, aryl, and heteroaryl moieties;
- and R2 and R2′ are independently selected from H, monophosphate and diphosphate moieties;
- and salts, esters, hydrates and solvates thereof.
