Abstract
A method is provided for detecting multiple analytes via their interactions with reagents. The analytes are immobilized on an analyte support and are divided into subdivisions by a blotting apparatus. Reagents are applied, each to a specific subdivision of the analyte support and binds to the analytes there.
Claims31
A Western blotting apparatus for detecting a plurality of analytes, said blotting apparatus comprising a base support, an analyte support comprising a solid support on which said analytes are immobilized wherein the analyte support is formed by separating the analytes by gel electrophoresis according to their properties selected from the group consisting of molecular weights and isoelectric points and transferring the analytes from gel to said solid support;
- and a separator containing at least three rows and least two columns of rectangular-shaped compartments arranged in a pattern selected from the group consisting of zigzag pattern and staggered pattern, wherein, said analyte support is assembled between said base support and said separator, whereby each of said analytes is at the center portion of one of said compartments.
