Abstract
A carrier for developing an electrostatic charge image includes a core containing a magnetic material and a coating layer, in which the coating layer includes porous carbon having a volume average particle size of from 0.5 μm to 2 μm and a BET specific surface area of from 1 m2/g to 5 m2/g, and a resin.

A carrier for developing an electrostatic charge image comprising:
- a core containing a magnetic material;
- and
- a coating layer,
- wherein the coating layer contains porous carbon having a volume average particle size of from 0.5 μm to 2 μm and a BET specific surface area of from 1 m2/g to 5 m2/g, and a resin.
