Abstract
A multilayer construction for aerodynamic riblets includes a first layer composed of a material with protuberances, the first layer material exhibiting a first characteristic having long-term durability and a second layer composed of a material, exhibiting a second characteristic with capability for adherence to a surface.
Claims2
A multilayer construction for riblets comprising:
- a first layer composed of a material with a plurality of rigid tips exhibiting a first characteristic of having durability, said first layer including an elastomeric layer engaging the tips;
- a second layer including a polymer layer supporting said rigid tips in predetermined spaced relation;
- a metallic layer intermediate the elastomeric layer and the polymer layer;
- and,
- an adhesive layer adhering to a surface.
