Abstract
The present invention provides acyclic, geminal-dinitro organic compounds, methods of synthesizing the compounds, pharmaceutical compositions, therapeutic methods, and medical kits for treating various conditions using such compounds and pharmaceutical compositions. The compounds and compositions are useful in the treatment of cancer.
Claims13
A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and at least one compound of Formula I:
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein:
- R1 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, or —(C1-C4)alkylene-N(R7)C(O)-haloalkyl;
- R2, R3, and R6 each represent independently for each occurrence hydrogen or alkyl;
- R4 is —X2—(C1-C6)alkylene-C(NO2)2-alkyl;
- or R4 is —N(R6)C(O)-haloalkyl when R1 is —(C1-C4)alkylene-N(R7)C(O)-haloalkyl;
- R7 is alkyl;
- X2 is —O—(C1-C4)alkylene-O—;
- n is 1, 2, or 3;
- and
- the stereochemical configuration at any stereocenter in a compound represented by Formula I is R, S, or a mixture thereof.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and at least one compound selected from the following:
A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and at least one compound of Formula I-C:
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein:
- R1 is —(C1-C4)alkylene-OH or —(C1-C4)alkylene-OC(O)R5;
- R2, R3, and R6 each represent independently for each occurrence hydrogen or alkyl;
- R4 is —OH or —OC(O)R5;
- R5 represents independently for each occurrence hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, or aryl;
- n is 1, 2, or 3;
- and the stereochemical configuration at any stereocenter in a compound represented by Formula I-C is R, S, or a mixture thereof.
