Abstract
One embodiment of the present invention is a nonwoven fabric comprising a support web and a fibrous barrier web, having a hydrohead of at least about 145 cm and a Frazier permeability of at least about 0.3 m3/m2-min.
Claims15
A nonwoven fabric comprising at least one support web of fibers and a hydrophobic barrier web with a basis weight from 5 g/m2 to 51.1 g/m2 and comprising fibers having a number average fiber diameter of less than 1.0 micrometer, said nonwoven fabric having a hydrohead of between 145 cm and 400 cm and a Frazier permeability of between 0.3 m3/m2-min and 11.2 m3/m2-min, wherein barrier web comprises fibers of hydrophobic polymer or copolymer and the polymer or copolymer are both selected from the group consisting of a polyolefin, a partially fluorinated and perfluorinated polymer or copolymer, and the fibers of the support web have diameters of less than 20 times the barrier web fiber diameters.
