Claims11
A method of producing a cellulosic or lignocellulosic material containing one or more enzymes, the method comprising:
- treating a cellulosic or lignocellulosic material by exposure to an electron beam under conditions that reduce the recalcitrance of the cellulosic or lignocellulosic material, to produce a treated cellulosic or lignocellulosic material,
- inoculating the treated cellulosic or lignocellulosic material with a microorganism of the genus Thrichoderma selected to utilize the treated cellulosic or lignocellulosic material and produce said one or more enzymes, thereby producing an inoculated cellulosic or lignocellulosic material, and
- maintaining the inoculated cellulosic or lignocellulosic material under conditions that allow the microorganism of the genus Trichoderma to produce said one or more enzymes,
- thereby producing a cellulosic or lignocellulosic material containing one or more enzymes.
