Method and system for providing content remotely via one or more IP multimedia residential gateways

A system for communication, the system comprising:

• a processor of an IP multimedia gateway device,
• a communication device interface of the IP multimedia gateway device configured to receive one or more content sharing service profiles associated with one or more communication devices, which are communicatively coupled to said IP multimedia gateway device, wherein said one or more content sharing service profiles are generated by one or more service manager network devices and control content sharing services enabled for said one or more communication devices;
• the communication device interface of the IP multimedia gateway device further configured to transmit content to a first communication device of said one or more communication devices in response to receiving a request from said first communication device for the content;
• and
• the communication device interface of the IP multimedia gateway device further configured to forwardly transmit a copy of said content requested by said first communication device to a second communication device of said one or more communication devices based on said received content sharing service profile associated with said first communication device,
• wherein said content that is requested for said communication to said first communication device is received from said one or more service manager network devices.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having processor-based instructions that cause a computer processor, when executed, to:

• receive one or more content sharing service profiles associated with one or more communication devices, which are communicatively coupled to an IP multimedia gateway, wherein said one or more content sharing service profiles are generated by one or more service manager network devices and control content sharing services enabled for said one or more communication devices;
• transmit content to a first communication device of said one or more communication devices in response to receiving a request from said first communication device for the content;
• and
• forwardly transmit a copy of said content requested by said first communication device to a second communication device of said one or more communication devices based on said received content sharing service profile associated with said first communication device,
• wherein said content that is requested for said communication to said first communication device is received from said one or more service manager network devices.
