Wireless email communications system providing subscriber account update features and related methods

A electronic mail (email) server for a plurality of mobile wireless communications devices, each having a unique identification (ID), a password, and a device capability set associated therewith, the email server comprising:

• a database and a controller coupled thereto and configured to
• send and receive emails of the mobile wireless communications devices based upon the unique IDs and passwords,
• prompt a given mobile wireless communications device to provide a communication and comparing a given unique ID and password, based upon the communication, with a corresponding unique ID and password in the database, and
• update the device capability set based upon a difference between the unique ID associated with the communication and the unique ID in the database.

A wireless communications method for a plurality of mobile wireless communications devices, each having a unique identification (ID), a password, and a device capability set associated therewith, the method comprising:

• operating a database and a controller coupled thereto to at least
• send and receive emails of the mobile wireless communications devices based upon the unique IDs and passwords,
• prompt a given mobile wireless communications device to provide a communication and comparing a given unique ID and password, based upon the communication, with a corresponding unique ID and password in the database, and
• update the device capability set based upon a difference between the unique ID associated with the communication and the unique ID in the database.
