Mobile wireless communications device for storing e-mail search results and associated methods

A communications system for communication with at least one e-mail server configured to communicate via a given e-mail protocol from among a plurality of different e-mail protocols and configured to store e-mail data and generate e-mail search results, the communications system comprising:

• at least one mobile wireless communications device configured to send an e-mail search request;
• and
• an aggregation server configured to
• communicate using the plurality of different e-mail protocols,
• receive and forward the e-mail search request to said at least one e-mail server using the given e-mail protocol, and
• receive and forward the e-mail search results from the at least one e-mail server to the at least one mobile wireless communications device;
• said at least one mobile wireless communications device comprising
• a memory,
• a display, and
• a processor configured to
• store the e-mail search results in said memory and while displaying the e-mail search results on a search results screen on said display, and
• display an other screen, different than the search results screen, on said display and while continuing to store the e-mail search results in said memory.

A method of operating a communications system comprising:

• configuring at least one e-mail server to communicate via a given e-mail protocol from among a plurality of different e-mail protocols, and to store e-mail data and generate e-mail search results;
• sending an e-mail search request to an aggregation server configured to communicate using the plurality of different e-mail protocols, using at least one mobile wireless communications device;
• receiving and forwarding the e-mail search request to the at least one e-mail server using the given e-mail protocol, using the aggregation server;
• receiving and forwarding the e-mail search results from the at least one e-mail server to at least one mobile wireless communications device, using the aggregation server;
• storing the e-mail search results in a memory of the at least one mobile wireless communications and while displaying the e-mail search results on a search results screen on a display thereof;
• and
• displaying an other screen, different than the search results screen, on the display of the at least one mobile wireless communications device while continuing to store the e-mail search results in the memory thereof.
