Abstract
The present invention provides methods and systems for processing bills for a customer. A request for master data of the customer is received from a first processing module by means of a second processing module having access to the master data of the customer and the master data comprising bill format information. The second processing module sends the requested master data to the first processing module and receives a bill in a format specified in the master data of the customer from the first processing module.
Claims19

- receiving, at a computing device, a consolidated bill comprising two or more itemized billing positions associated with one or more purchase orders between one or more billers and a customer;
- presenting, by the computing device, the two or more itemized billing positions to a bill dispatcher user;
- receiving, at the computing device, a first selection from the bill dispatcher user, wherein the first selection identifies one or more itemized billing positions within the consolidated bill;
- receiving, at the computing device, a second selection from the bill dispatcher user, wherein the second selection identifies one or more bill reviewer users;
- associating, by the computing device, the identified itemized billing positions with the identified bill reviewer users;
- and
- dispatching review, by the computing device, of the identified itemized billing positions to the associated bill reviewer users, wherein dispatching review comprises executing a series of steps for each identified itemized billing position:
- making the the identified itemized billing position available for presentment to the associated bill reviewer users;
- and
- receiving payment instructions for the identified itemized billing position from one of the associated bill reviewer users, wherein payment instructions include an internal account number to which at least a portion of the payment should be charged;
- and
- initiating electronic payment of the identified itemized billing position consistent with the payment instructions.
A computer-implemented method for bill review dispatching by a third-party billing intermediary, the method performed by at least one processor, the method comprising:
- generating, by a computing device, a consolidated bill associated with at least two of a plurality of billers and a customer, wherein the step of consolidating bills comprises executing a sequence of steps for each biller of the at least two billers:
- receiving billing information from the biller, wherein the billing information is associated with one or more itemized billing positions associated with the one or more purchase orders between the biller and the customer;
- selecting a biller-specific template based at least in part on the billing information;
- creating a bill based at least in part on the billing information and on the biller-specific template;
- selecting customer information associated with the customer, wherein the customer information includes at least a format for presenting the bill;
- transforming the created bill into the format for presenting the bill;
- determining an invoice delivery date for the transformed bill based at least in part on the billing information;
- and
- making the transformed bill available for presentment to a bill dispatcher user based at least in part on the invoice delivery date;
- receiving, at the computing device, a selection from the bill dispatcher user, wherein the selection associates one or more itemized billing positions within the bill with one or more bill reviewer users;
- making the transformed bill available for presentment, by the computing device, to each of the one or more selected bill reviewer users;
- receiving, at the computing device, payment instructions for the one or more selected itemized billing positions from each of the one or more selected bill reviewer users;
- and
- initiating electronic payment, by the computing device, of the one or more selected itemized billing positions consistent with the payment instructions.
