Abstract
Methods, systems, and products present a custom alert to a recipient of an incoming data communication. A data message is received that specifies the custom alert associated with the data communication. The customer alert is then visually and/or audibly presented to provide notice of the data communication.

A method, comprising:
- receiving a data message at a communications device that specifies an alert associated with a text message;
- retrieving the alert from memory of the communications device;
- and
- presenting the alert prior to receiving the text message to provide advance notice of the text message.

- a processor;

- a memory;
- wherein the memory includes code stored that when executed causes the processor at least to:
- receive a data message that specifies an alert associated with a text message;
- retrieve the alert from the memory;
- and
