Abstract
A wireless communications system includes a radio resource manager, one or more base stations, and one or more wireless transceivers capable of communicating with the base stations. The wireless transceivers are configured to be able to measure the difference in network parameter (e.g. frequency and timing offset) between base stations within their range. These network parameter differences along with other information are communicated to the radio resource manager which is then able to update or correct the signal or signals of one or more base stations using the information from the wireless transceivers.
Claims23
A method for correcting a network parameter difference between network parameters of base stations in a wireless network, the method comprising:
- receiving a network parameter difference from a user equipment by a radio resource manager, the network parameter difference including a frequency difference information determined by the user equipment, the frequency difference information being based on comparison of a first frequency information received from the first base station by the user equipment and a second frequency information received from the second base station by the user equipment;
- generating a network parameter correction instruction based on the network parameter difference received by the radio resource manager;
- and
- transmitting a network parameter correction instruction by the radio resource manager to at least one of the first and second base stations based on the network parameter difference received from the user equipment,
- wherein the user equipment determines the frequency difference information by comparing the first frequency information and the second frequency information.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium encoded with computer readable instructions, which when executed, perform a method for correcting a network parameter difference between network parameters of base stations in a wireless network operable to broadcast to a user equipment, the method comprising:
- receiving a network parameter difference from a wireless transceiver by a radio resource manager, the network parameter difference including a frequency difference information determined by the wireless transceiver, the frequency difference information being based on comparison of a first frequency information received from the first base station by the wireless transceiver and a second frequency information received from the second base station by the wireless transceiver;
- generating a network parameter correction instruction based on the network parameter difference received by the radio resource manager;
- and
- transmitting the network parameter correction instruction by the radio resource manager to at least one of the first and second base stations based on the network parameter difference received from the wireless transceiver,
- wherein the user equipment determines the frequency difference information by comparing the first frequency information and the second frequency information.
A wireless system comprising:
- first and second base stations;
- at least one user equipment;
- and
- at least one radio resource manager (RRM);
- wherein the RRM is configured to:
- receive a network parameter difference from the user equipment, the network parameter difference including a frequency difference information determined by the user equipment, the frequency difference information being based on comparison of a first frequency information received from the first base station by the user equipment and a second frequency information received from the second base station by the user equipment;
- generate a network parameter correction instruction based on the network parameter difference received by the radio resource manager;
- and
- transmitting the network parameter correction instruction to at least one of the first and second base stations based on the network parameter difference received from the user equipment,
- wherein the user equipment determines the frequency difference information by comparing the first frequency information and the second frequency information.
