Synchronized broadcast/multicast communication

An access terminal apparatus, comprising:

• means for demodulating unicast transmissions;
• means for demodulating broadcast transmissions that include a first broadcast transmission from a first base station and a second broadcast transmission from a second base station, wherein the first broadcast transmission and the second broadcast transmission are processed by the means for demodulating the broadcast transmissions as multipath components of a same signal;
• and
• means for selecting, in response to a type of information received, the means for demodulating unicast transmissions or the means for demodulating broadcast transmissions.

A computer-implemented method, comprising:

• modulating, by a first modulator, unicast information using a first waveform associated with unicast transmissions, the first waveform specific to a first transmitter;
• modulating, by a broadcast modulator, broadcast information using a second waveform associated with broadcast transmissions, the second waveform used by both the first transmitter and at least a second transmitter distinct from the first transmitter to transmit the broadcast transmissions;
• and
• selecting, by a modulation controller and in response to a type of information to be transmitted, the first modulator or the broadcast modulator.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions operable, when executed by a processor, to cause the processor to:

• demodulate unicast transmissions;
• demodulate broadcast transmissions including a first broadcast transmission from a first base station and a second broadcast transmission from a second base station, wherein the first broadcast transmission and the second broadcast transmission are processed by the processor as multipath components of a same signal;
• and
• select, in response to a type of information received, demodulation of the unicast transmissions or demodulation of the broadcast transmissions.
